Our Mission and Vision
To challenge each participant to follow the path of discipleship in Jesus Christ.
We seek to promote spiritual growth in participants by partnering with, serving and supporting the Church as it seeks to teach Biblical truth, worship together, and build relationships and community.
Our Mission
There are paths that lie before us. They are sometimes easy, rolling through beautiful meadows, lazily following a calm brook. They are often difficult, climbing steep grades, hiking through deep snow. They are always challenging, always stretching, always causing us to grow and change. Each path is different; the easiest is not always the one that should be followed. On the contrary, it is often the path that appears most difficult that will ultimately be the most rewarding. How then do we choose the right path and how do we make sure we stay on it?
There are two things that are indispensable to us as we travel through this life: our companions and our guides. Read any book on travel and you will find that you should never travel alone and you should never travel without a map, someone who knows the way, or a guidebook for the area. Yet, in these times of change and fast pace, we tend to do just that - to strike out on our own, to depend on no one and to have none that depend on us. We take neither a guide book, nor a map, believing that we know best the right way to go. We do not trust the conventions of those that went before us, finding the wisdom of the past to be antiquated. Consequently, we are a culture that chooses poorly, changes paths frequently, and finds itself empty at the end of its journey. Pathway Ministries was founded to provide direction in the midst of this culture.
Our mission is to help people find the path of Life that is Jesus Christ. As he said to his disciple, Thomas "I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one can come to the Father except through me." Our desire is to see people find that way, that truth and that life. We will accomplish this by focusing on the two things we need most to keep us on the right path - companions and guides. Our companions - those who travel with us. Who are they? Our family, our friends, those we come in contact with every day. They are people who keep us accountable in our walk, who help us when we are in need, who depend on us when they are down. They are the people who need us and who we need. What guides do we need in our travels? Our compass: the Truth of God. Our guide book: the Word of God. Our map: the leading of the Spirit of God. Our guides: our pastors and mentors. We must consult all before starting our journey and be in contact with them as we travel, continually checking and updating our route. With these concepts in mind, we seek to accomplish the following:
Our Vision
Our first step is to create programs that would allow your group to learn about the glory and splendor of God in a setting of His glorious creation. We wish to partner with you to create an experience that is as unique as your group and is an integrated part of your ministry. It is our desire to see your group provided with an opportunity to grow together as each individual grows in Christ.
Pathway Ministries is committed to teach the truths of Scripture alongside wilderness techniques and appreciation in order to develop the entire person, physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. Another goal of Pathway Ministries is to partner with organizations in the cities of Boston, New York, Montreal and Toronto, as well as other urban areas in the Northeast, in order to provide outdoor experiences for children and adults who may not otherwise have access to natural lands and activities. Will your group partner with us as we seek to know Christ and to serve Him?
